The European Social Network (ESN) is the independent network for social services in Europe. ESN Members are key providers of vital social services and work closely with health, employment and education services and voluntary and private providers. ESN is a forum for practice exchange among its members and a platform for policy engagement at European level. ESN is a not-for-profit organisation and a charity registered in the United Kingdom. A new English/French bilingual brochure (2008) presenting ESN's values, mission and activities is now available as a PDF download >> Governance ESN's strategy and operations are overseen by the Board comprising national or regional associations of directors of social services. The Board meets twice a year and elects the chair and treasurer annually. The chair and treasurer with the Director / Secretary to the Board form the ESN Business Committee, which meets four times a year.
Lars-Göran Jansson is Secretary to the Association of Sweden's Social Directors (FSS). Christian Fillet is Director of Social Services in Willebroek near Antwerp in Belgium and chair of the Antwerp section of the Association of Flemish Directors of Social Services (VVOS). The

ESN's European Secretariat is based in Brighton, UK. It providers organisational and policy support to the Network and is led by the Director.
