Dear visitors,
On this website we
would like to give you information about the EU-project "Promoting social
inclusion for unaccompanied young asylum seekers and refugees - a duty
of justice and care".
The project was led by the European
Social Network and involved 12
partners from 7 European countries.
The project ran from November '03 to October '05 and received funding
under the Transnational Action Programme within the Community Action Programme
to Combat Social Exclusion 2002-2006.
The project addressed the welfare and legal responsibilities of local
authorities towards unaccompanied young asylum seekers and refugees and
its objectives
therefore expressed the needs of local authority social services.

ESN Policy statement
"Unaccompanied minor asylum-seeking children and immigrants" (December
2004) ESN voiced its concern regarding the current provision of services
to unaccompanied children by European Union Member States. [en]
