The Ministry of Labour and Pension System, Family and Social Policy, based in Zagreb (Croatia) performs administrative and other tasks related to employment policy, regulation of labor relations, labor market and active employment policy, system and policy of pension insurance and relations with trade unions and employers associations in the area of employment relations. Other tasks and responsibilities include the development of social policies and funding of family services.

  • Employment status services of foreign citizens employed in the country
  • Conducting inspections and supervisions of all bodies providing social welfare
  • Deciding on the establishment, termination and status changes of social welfare institutions
  • Dissemination and analysis of data, reports and surveys on social welfare users
  • Managing adoption and foster care services
  • Protection from domestic violence
  • Encouraging the development of community work programs, development and affirmation of volunteering and the work of citizens' associations that support parents, families, children, children with disabilities and the elderly and all socially vulnerable groups
  • Establishing counselling centres children, parents, children with disabilities, the elderly and victims of domestic violence
  • Identifying and researching current problems of families, children, children with disabilities and the elderly, and providing preventive and therapeutic assistance.
