Towards Community Care
ESN Awareness-Raising Event at European Parliament / 6-8 December / Brussels

Building on ESN’s work on deinstitutionalisation through the working group and high-level advisory committee, ESN will raise awareness about developing policies on the transition from institutional to community care. This will be coordinated with the ESN Members’ Day. Contact Dorota.Tomalak

ESN is beginning a new three-year framework partnership 2011-13 with the European Commission under the PROGRESS programme. The Members’ Day will give an opportunity to Members to contribute to the development of a programme for the next three years. Contact Stephen.Barnett


Mental Health
ESN Working Group and European Mental Health Pact

ESN launched its group on mental health in July. The aim of the group is to share good practice at the local level and feed into the European Pact for Mental Health and Wellbeing. The group will hold its second meeting in September to prepare for the European Pact conference on stigma and social exclusion on 8-9 November. Contact Alfonso.Montero


EY2010: Listening to Users
EY2010 Focus Week / 18-20 October / Brussels

ESN will present an open space session on 20 October at the participatory forum held during the Focus Week of the European Year of Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion 2010. Belgian Presidency 2010
ESN will take part in various conferences relevant to social services

Beginning with the child poverty conference on 2-3 September, the Belgian Presidency is holding a series of events as part of its commitment to be a Social Presidency. ESN will also participate in conferences on the future of social policy cooperation in Europe (14-15 September) and on the place of social services in the single market (26-27 October).
