


| Brussels Sep 2011 | Launch of the ESN's report on Mental Health On 21 September ESN launched its latest report Mental Health and Wellbeing in Europe: A person-centred community approach, originating from the work of the ESN working group on mental health and wellbeing. The launch, held at the European Parliament, brought together approximately 80 delegates from across Europe, including senior management, professionals, researchers and service users, in a joint effort to promote a person-centred community approach to mental health and wellbeing. | Budapest May 2011 | Social Services in Europe: Innovative responses for challenging times ESN Spring Seminar held on 17-18 May 2011 in Budapest was co-organised under the Hungarian Presidency of the European Union with the Ministry of National Resources, the National Family and Social Policy Institute, and SZOSZAK, a national NGO active in the social field. It was a major opportunity to share innovation in social services faced with rising demand and shrinking resources. It brought together some 120 senior managers, professionals and researches, half from Hungary and half, mainly ESN Members, from the rest of Europe. Read more. |
| Athens May 2010 | Skills for Care and Inclusion: Meeting the needs of dependent older people ESN welcomed 25 European and 35 Greek delegates in Athens to discuss the future of the long-term care workforce. In a turbulent climate in Greece, ESN had the pleasure of working with the Central Union of Municipalities and Communities (KEDKE), the municipality of Zografou and the Ministry of Employment and Social Protection. | Brussels Dec 2010 | Members' Workshop: Sharing achivements, shaping the future Over 55 representatives of ESN Member Organisations from 23 countries gathered in Brussels on 6-7 December 2010 to review ESN’s achievements in 2008-10 and shape its future work for 2011-13, in view of its new three-year framework agreement with the European Commission. | Warsaw May 2009 | Developing Community Care The Spring Seminar in Warsaw marked ESN’s long-term commitment to supporting the development of community care across Europe. The seminar gathered 50 delegates from 20 countries. A working group and a high-level advisory committee were established later in the year to take this commitment forward. Read more. |
| Madrid Nov 2009 | Building Partnerships in Mental Health for economic and social integration This seminar focused on how social services work together with other agencies and stakeholders to support the inclusion of people with mental health problems in society and the labour market. It marked the beginning of ESN’s commitment to contribute to the development of the European Pact on Mental Health and Wellbeing over the coming years. Read more. |
| Ljubljana May 2008 | Building Capacity, Improving Quality: Social services in transition in Central and Eastern Europe The transformation of social services in Central and Eastern Europe since 1990 was at the heart of this ESN seminar. Organised in cooperation with the Slovenian Presidency of the EU and the Association of Centres for Social Work, ESN Member in Slovenia, it attracted 60 delegates from 23 countries. Read more. |
| Brussels Nov 2008 | Commissioning for Quality, Dignity and Inclusion for older people in social care The autumn seminar gathered 30 delegates from 20 countries across Europe to explore current practices in commissioning for quality. It focused on contracting as part of the strategic approach to planning social services which can meet people’s needs and preferences with due regard to available resources. Read more |
