The call for applications for the European Social Services Awards (ESSA) closed on September 3rd and the panel of expert judges is now evaluating the projects presented under each of the five categories: Outstanding Team, Research Project, Technology Tool Social Service Innovation and Collaborative Practice. The third edition of the ESSA saw the latter two categories receiving the highest number of applications.

Overall, the submitted projects reflect the challenges experienced during the last year and a half in the social services sector. The submissions show a commitment to innovation, the importance of boosting coordinated and collaborative services, the benefits of putting technology at the service of professionals and users, and how fundamental it is to continue researching and working towards more resilient and humanized models of care.
