Welcome to the ESN Social Inclusion Website!

The ESN social inclusion webpages will no longer be updated as the ESN Social Inclusion Programme ended on 31 December 2007. Please keep an eye on www.esn-eu.org to keep in touch with our news.

ESN is the network of directors of social services with members in 23 European countries. ESN is a key European network in the fight against poverty and social exclusion.

ESN We aim to be the link between local and regional social services and national governments and European policy-makers within the EU Social Inclusion Process. We aim to keep our members informed about the EU Social Inclusion Process and to encourage their participation in that Process both at a national level and at a European level through ESN.

Our activities include:

An e-newsletter with examples of good practice, updates on the ESN inclusion programme, policy news.
Monitoring the preparation and implementation of the NAPs through contact with national governments and ESN members.
A series of thematic Inclusion Seminars bringing together practitioners, policy-makers and service users in conference and working sessions
Thematic policy outputs: preparing practice-led policy inputs following each seminar and participating in EU policy debates and development.
Communication: through the seminars, the e-newsletter, contact with national and European policy-makers, other European and national events and methods, ESN and its members will raise awareness of the European dimension to social inclusion policy and ensure that social services are represented in the European and national policy context.
