NAPs/Inclusion 2006-2008: National Policies to Combat Poverty and Social Exclusion

The 25, now 27, Member States of the European Union, submitted a National Report on Social Protection and Social Inclusion. These are key national documents submitted within the EU framework on Social Protection and Inclusion.

The National Action Plans on Social Inclusion are on element of these Reports, which also comprise: a Common Overview, a National Strategy Report on Pensions and a National Plan on Health care and long-term care.

The European Commission and the Council of the EU reviewed the National Reports 2006-08 in their Joint Report on Social Protection and Social Inclusion 2007.

ESN monitored the preparation and implementation of the NAPs through contacts in national governments. The Report opposite reviews and assesses the NAPs from the perspective of social services.
