Dear {contact.first_name},

I trust you had a good Easter. As discussed in the last Board meeting in London I am sending you a copy of ESN’s 2011 accounts. I thought I would also take this opportunity to include the Board Communication for May as follows.

2011 ACCOUNTS
Please find attached our 2011 Accounts, Trustees’ Report and note to accounts for your information.

EU AUDIT
We have just been randomly selected to receive an inspection visit on 6/7/8 June and the auditors have selected the 2010 accounts.

COPENHAGEN CONFERENCE 25-27 June 2012
Our 20th European Social Services Conference is fast approaching! Registrations are going reasonably well so far but we need more bookings and we would urge you to please ensure you have done the following as soon as possible:
• Register for the conference
• Promote the conference to your colleagues and contacts
• Send us a list of your members’ contact details to ensure they receive regular conference information

We are counting on your support so thank you in advance!

ROME SEMINAR 10-11 May 2012
We are very much looking forward to our Spring Seminar in Rome next week. The programme promises to be an interesting insight on “Vulnerable Youth in Transition” and we are delighted to have the cooperation of the Lazio region and the participation of some inspiring and eminent speakers.

NEW MEMBERSHIP

We would like to request the Board’s approval of the following new member: LCGW from the Netherlands, a national learning network for local welfare policy managers.

HUMAN RESOURCES

We are currently in the final stages of recruiting for a new Policy Officer, with interviews taking place this week. We will keep you informed.

We are delighted that Stella Víðisdóttir, Director for Social Services for the City of Reykjavík, is spending a few months in Brighton studying English and management and also helping us out in the office by promoting the conference for colleagues in the Nordic countries.

We also have with us Nuria de Valle Gonzalez, an intern who joins us from Munich and is helping us update our German and Austrian database.

Best wishes,

John Halloran
Chief Executive
