Covid-19 has transformed the way we deliver social services. Throughout the pandemic, frontline social services professionals implemented new and innovative, digital, agile, and remote ways of working so that care could continue to be provided for vulnerable children and families, people with disabilities, the homeless and young and older people.

How can we use the new tools which have been developed to improve and rethink the ways in which we plan, implement, and evaluate social services?

How can we use the new EU budget and national resilience and recovery funds to invest and build on this transformation to modernise and reform social services?

Public authorities, social services professionals, policy-makers and care providers from across Europe will come together at the 30th European Social Services Conference in Hamburg between 8-10 June 2022 to discuss how we can ‘rethink recovery’ after Covid-19 to transform social services for the better

-Make your work and experience part of the discussions

We are currently seeking proposals to organise an interactive workshop, take part in a thematic panel or make a quick-fire project presentation to all delegates focusing on one of three aspects linked to our theme:

  • strategic changes in the organisation;
  • investing in the workforce;
  • and improving the experience of people using social services.

For example, if you have developed new procurement models for more resilient social services; digitised the management of data to better share information across different services; transformed care for children, families and youth, or developed new home and community-based models to support people with disabilities or older people, we want to hear from you.

Inspire with examples, aspire for change, and dare to dream

The European Social Services Conference is your opportunity to contribute to the largest public social welfare policy and practice forum in Europe and to shape the discussions on how we can develop future-facing, resilient social services which leave no one behind as Europe recovers from the pandemic.

You can find more information about the conference and how to apply on our dedicated conference website – the deadline for applications is 9 December for proposals submitted in French, Spanish, German or Italian and 14 December for proposals submitted in English.

We look forward to hearing from you!
