


In cooperation with the Slovenian Association of Centres for Social Work, ESN was able to offer to the delegates a possibility to visit local services for children, older people and employment.
The Children Crisis Centre (CCC) Grosuplje provides a short term safe placement for children and youth deprived of normal family life. Placement in the CCC (usually up to 21 days) is strictly voluntary and children and youth sign an agreement with the staff. Social workers, parents and often police are notified about child’s arrival to the CCC. During a child’s stay in the CCC a range of intervention services is provided.
Centres for Social Work in Slovenia work closely with the Public Employment Agency to motivate and activate their clients to take up a job or training or come back to school. Young persons and the representatives of the ethnic groups are among the most vulnerable on the job market.
The Institute for Rehabilitation hosts a demonstration apartment and clinical research facility (ambient assisted living lab), fitted with equipment and technical aids, from simple to the most advanced, assisting elderly and people with disabilities.
