This project established dialogues between children’s services and other services in Malta to promote integrated approaches to childcare. This integration supports the best interest of the child. For example, every school has a social worker that ensures the protection and identification of at-risk children.

Preventative action is undertaken using child protection, home-based therapy, psychology unit services, addiction services, and parenting programs. Social workers are now receiving training on how to assess a child and identify any risk of violence against the child. Cooperation with the police and health services also aids in helping vulnerable children.
