Due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, refugees fleeing aggression to arrive in Arad had no access to information regarding shelter, food, education, and medical assistance. Therefore, this project was established to provide a centralised location to provide the necessary support to the Ukrainian refugees (adults and children); carry out a needs assessment and find viable solutions to meet them, whether it is services that DAS Arad can offer or by finding a private partner (e.g. an NGO, private care office, etc.); and provide legal social and psychological counselling.

Coordination between public institutions and NGOs (more than 20 entities were involved) resulted in an information and support centre for refugees from Ukraine.

The centre created a database with locations where refugees can live; English and Romanian language courses; where food is provided daily; medical and dental assistance; and directions towards financial aid.
