This year’s conference, which runs from May 28-30 with the pre-conference Nordic Day on May 27, will feature a record 28 workshops covering a broad spectrum of subject areas in social services

The workshop programme provides delegates with a unique opportunity to discover innovative practices from across Europe. They embrace the conference theme ‘Invest, Innovate, Transform: Empowering people and communities’ and will provide an opportunity for knowledge sharing and proactive debate.

Workshops are being added regularly, with the workshop booking system scheduled to open on Friday March 23.

Current workshops include:

Prepare for Leaving Care: Young people leaving care involved in training professionals, delivered by SOS Children’s Villages International

Delegates will see an example of full and meaningful service user involvement and will hear what care-experienced young people have to say about their transitions from the care system.

 

Elaboration and dissemination of the social services development index in Spain, delivered by National Association of Directors and Managers of Social Services in Spain.

Learn how the Social Services Development Index is the only study which measures the development of resources allocated within the social services system. This study is particularly relevant as social services respond to the needs of more than 8 million people in Spain.

 

Randomised Controlled Trials (RCTs) to improve the effectiveness of services delivered by Divosa & City of Amsterdam 

Discover how Amsterdam is implementing practices for service users to help them find work, their findings on what support works best for who, and discuss the suitability of RCTs to evaluate services helping people find employment.

 

Child Protection Hub for South East Europe delivered by Terre des hommes

Understand the ChildHub platform and the opportunities it offers for learning and exchange among professionals, including those working on migration issues. Participants will also have the opportunity to explore the role of modern technology in facilitating learning.
