The European Social Network (ESN) organised an online conversation with ESN members with responsibility for social services protection in Ukraine’s neighbouring countries to learn about their immediate responses and challenges faced in light of the current humanitarian crisis.

Social services support to Ukrainian people fleeing the war -mostly women with children- is not just about the initial response but also about overarching responses that address longer term social inclusion needs.

This essential conversation highlighted social services’ current programmes put in place, the continuing support which will be required in the months to come, and assessed how national and European authorities could help the work of social services in the long-term.
