The Joint Research Centre’s new study released on 17 May is the result of a collaboration with the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion. This study outlines how ICT-enabled social innovation can enhance integrated approaches in social services delivery in different EU welfare systems to support the implementation of the EU’s Social Investment Package (SIP).

On 30-31 May the European Social Network (ESN) launched the study ‘Investing in Children’s Services, Improving Outcomes’ at a two day event, which marked the end of a three-year project in 14 European countries. The study assesses how key principles of the European Commission’s Recommendation ‘Investing in children: breaking the cycle of disadvantage’ are implemented in practice.

On 13 April 2016, ESN participated in the final conference of the IMPact project in Brussels. Funded by the European Commission’s 2007-2013 PROGRESS programme, IMPact has produced a guide for public authorities willing to develop new or evaluate existing personal household services and policies.
