The Go Team works in Mechelen's social services and aids families. It was established as a result of the local police's 2013 discovery that some families experiencing extreme poverty were going unidentified and unsupported by the care system. Several social professionals who work closely with the families and frequently make weekly visits are part of the Go Team. They can offer this more intense support since they have fewer caseloads.

The team's attention is directed toward families who are dealing with more serious issues, such as debt, a lack of sufficient housing, unemployment, low school attendance, substance misuse, and hygiene issues. With the families, the social workers work in an integrated manner to handle the many challenges that may arise such as a lack of suitable accommodation, unemployment, poor attendance at school, substance misuse, hygiene issues, and debt.

With the families, the social workers work in an integrated manner to handle the many challenges that may arise. This includes offering support if users need to appear in court as well as assisting them in accessing services like healthcare and benefits. There are links between the Go Team and other services. The youth and family division of the police, student counselling centres, schools, and government organisations all refer people to the team. Given the significance of the very early years for a child's future development, the team concentrates on working with very small children and even pregnant mothers. Each year, 50 to 60 families are served.
