ESN members from Czechia identify the most important common challenges facing social services, relating to three principles of the European Pillar of Social Rights and recommendations for the 2023 European Semester.

Monitoring of progress in implementing the National Strategy for the Protection of Children’s Rights 2021-2030, with its accompanying action plan is recommended to set up preventive and professional care services for vulnerable children and families. The implementation of the policy objectives of the National Strategy for the Development of Social Services 2016-2025 is needed to improve the quality of long-term care. The threshold for co-funding should be set at 5% for national and local governments and 0% for NGOs and faith based organisations to increase the absorption capacity of EU funds in social housing.
