The National Research Council - Institute for Research on Population and Social Policies, based in Rome, is an interdisciplinary research institute that carries out studies on demographic and migration issues, on welfare systems and social policies, on science, technology and higher education policy, on relations between science and society, on creation, access and diffusion of knowledge and information technologies. The research activity is oriented on three main lines. Fist of all, the study of the relationships between demographic trends and social and economic development. Secondly, the study of social dynamics and policies in the welfare systems. And lastly, the study of the change in society linked to the diffusion of knowledge and information technologies.
