ESN’s seminar ‘Integrated Services – Working together to improve lives’ took place in Manchester on 5 - 6 November, and gathered around 100 participants, among them researchers, policy makers and practitioners from local and regional authorities. The programme provided an opportunity for mutual learning and networking.
Across varied sessions, we looked at integrated policy and practice approaches from the perspective of social services, whilst reflecting on their cooperation with the education, employment, and health sectors. The seminar sparked off lively debates around policies of service integration, which dealt with aspects such as evidence on integrated services, country models of integrated policies, and the involvement of user groups. A variety of European examples showcased how integrated services can be made a reality.
