Social planning – developing more cohesive local communities
Social planning helps local authorities to facilitate a targeted approach by mapping the needs of the population through in-depth data collection, assessing the data in order to target funding to the areas or sectors of highest need, and continuous monitoring and evaluation.
Our seminar in Vienna brought together over 80 representatives from local public authorities across Europe and representatives from national ministries and international organisations. We looked at different approaches of how social planning may contribute to decision-making in terms of designing tailored social policies and services.
