Organised jointly with ESN’s Ageing & Care working group, this meeting focused on the quality and evaluation of social services for people with disabilities, and how to develop an adequate market of services to ensure free choice and successful independent living.
On the second day, a joint session of both working groups, discussed the interactions of disability and ageing, and their implications for the planning and delivery of social services and support.
Testimonies, experiences and practical examples were shared, and fed into active discussions about the daily reality of service users; the challenges faced both by users and public social services in planning and offering adapted, community-based and independence-enhancing services; and practical solutions and services to address these challenges.
