Bogdan Simion is currently the Executive Director of SERA ROMANIA Foundation, Executive Director of the Institute of Child Development, President of the Federation of Non-Governmental Organisations for Children (FONPC.) and President of the Economic and Social Council of Romania. He graduated from the "Carol Davila" University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest, Faculty of General Medicine with a specialisation in Health and Social Services Management.

Since 1995, his professional interest focused on the child welfare field, mainly on the development of social services, the reform of the child protection system in Romania, but also on the intervention and development strategies of non-governmental organisations within this field, their cooperation with the local and central administration and coordination of public and private social care providers addressing the needs of children at-risk and their families.

As executive director of SERA ROMANIA Foundation, one of the NGOs with a large experience in child welfare reform in Romania, Mr. Simion permanently cooperated with the central and local administration and NGOs / civil society. As president of FONPC within the last decade, he deeply understood the NGOs / civil society whose interventions to reform and support the child welfare were fundamental for the changing of the social policies within this field.
