Lora Vidović has been the City Minister heading the Zagreb City Office for Social Protection, Healthcare, War Veterans and Persons with Disabilities since 2022. In her work Lora is dedicated to enhancing social justice and social inclusiveness and to improving the availability of social and healthcare services for citizens, particularly the most vulnerable.
She is a lawyer by profession. Of all the high-ranking positions she held, her role as the Ombudswoman for an 8 years’ term stands out. From 2016 to 2019 Lora chaired the European Network of National Human Rights Institutions (ENNHRI) and she was a member of the Bureau of the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions (GANHRI). From 2015 to 2018, she was a member of the EU Fundamental Rights Agency (FRA) Management Board.
She is a determined advocate of comprehensive social policy development based on evidence and cross-sectoral cooperation as a guarantee of a better response to specific needs of social service beneficiaries.
