Maricruz holds a degree in Social Work, a Master’s in Emergency and Disaster Management and Leadership from the University of Málaga (UMA), and is a certified expert in Disaster Management (Military Emergency Unit - UME).

Has over 20 years of experience in management and leadership roles with the State Group for Social Emergency Intervention (GEIES), participating in UME exercises and drills, as well as operations involving the pandemic, the La Palma volcanic eruption, DANA weather events, and, most recently, wildfires in Cáceres.
