Bertelsmann Stiftung is an independent foundation based in Gütersloh, Germany, and founded in 1977. The Foundation promotes 'reform processes' and 'the principles of entrepreneurial activity to build a 'future-oriented society' in a number of areas of expertise, including social welfare and social services.

Improving children's futures

Kristen Witte tells us about the ‘Leave no child behind!’ project. Since 2012, the Foundation has partnered with the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia and 40 municipalities to improve children's prospects for development, regardless of their background, and provide them equal opportunities.
