The Karlstad University (KAU) is a state university based in Karlstad, Sweden, with around 16,000 students. The university is actively involved in European cooperation and has participated in several EU projects related to social services, such as the NUSO project (National Follow-up of Social Services Transitions) or the SAVE project (Support and Protection Against Violence). Within the Karlstad University, the R&D Welfare Värmland is a research and development center dedicated to knowledge-based social work in social services, healthcare, and schools.
