The SIIS Research and Documentation Centre, San Sebastián (Spain) was created in 1972 in response to a significant deficit of existing scientific-technical information in the social sector. Since its foundation, SIIS has played a leading role in the development of social policies in the Basque Country. From its documentation centre to its think tanks , the SIIS has evolved to a tool for improving social inclusion policies, social services organisation and practice of social services professionals.
