500 delegates have already registered for the 30th European Social Services Conference. With only a few places remaining, don’t miss your opportunity to take part. Here are 5 reasons why you should attend:

1- TIME TO RETHINK RECOVERY: As the European economies are picking up, there is an opportunity to stimulate resources for social development and growth in social services. It is time to reshape social services with new tools. ESN’s Chief Executive Officer Alfonso Lara Montero highlights WHY this year’s thematic workshops and plenary sessions are timely and important.

“Crises like Covid-19 or migration emergencies have transformed the way we deliver social services. Throughout the pandemic and beyond, frontline social services professionals implemented new and innovative, digital, agile, and remote ways of working so that care could continue to be provided for vulnerable children and families, people with disabilities, the homeless, young and older people. The key is how to make them sustainable. At this conference we will discuss how social services professionals can take advantage of EU and national resilience funds, policies and tools to invest and build on this transformation to make social services reforms sustainable.”

2- 24 WORKSHOPS,  5 THEMATIC PANELS & 6 PLENARIES: More than 70 applications were received in the autumn, from which 24 workshops have been carefully selected to share innovative and evidence-based knowledge and practice from across Europe, so that you will leave informed and  inspired. Most importantly, you will have the opportunity to share and add your local knowledge and experience to the European pool of good practices.

3- FREE PRE-CONFERENCE EVENT ON CHILD PARTICIPATION: Organised by the Nordic Welfare Council, ESN member, this pre-conference event will take place on Tuesday 7 June, and will address the participation of young people and children in social services in the wake of the Covid-19 crisis.

4- NETWORK WITH OTHER SOCIAL SERVICES PROFESSIONALS from across Europe. ESN members can help shape and contribute to ESN’s future policy work and activities at the ESN members meeting.

5- CELEBRATE 30 YEARS PROMOTING SOCIAL SERVICES INNOVATION AND SUSTAINABILITY: This year is the 30th edition of the European Social Services Conference. Almost 20,000 delegates have attended our conferences over the past 30 years, many of them keep on coming back year after year.  Join the conversation on the transformations needed in social services to ensure they are resilient and sustainable.

The 30th ESSC will take place in the beautiful city of Hamburg. Hamburg has over 50 museums, 45 theatres, and around 100 music venues and clubs. It is one of the biggest musical cities in the world, second only to New York and London. The programme foresees several performances throughout the event by a group of young musicians and dancers from disadvantaged socio-economic backgrounds. The official reception will be hosted at Hamburg’s Town Hall, which dominates the centre of the city with its impressive architecture.
