Preparations for the 30th European Social Services Conference are now well underway!  Almost 70 applications were received to organise workshops at ESSC 2022, following the selection process by the ESSC Advisory Committee and the ESN team.

12 workshops announced

The first 14 workshops (out of 24) have now been announced. The workshops will explore the conference theme of “Rethinking Recovery” – looking at how the planning and implementation of public social services have been changing as a result of the new and innovative responses to Covid-19 - and fall into three different categories: Strategic changes in your organisation; improving the experience of people using social services: and investing in the workforce.

Delegates can choose from learning more about strength-based approaches to leadership to support the social services and social care workforce; new efforts to support relatives and informal carers in the Municipality of Esjberg; a new tool to improve the support offered to people living in poverty in Vienna; and a project to support children experiencing trauma. Other workshops will explore how to support social services professionals working in child protection; innovative approaches to child-care and child protection; using innovative digital services to support older people in the community; and an exchange of best practices on the use of voucher-based services for personal and household care. 3 new panel discussions

On Friday 10th June we are organising four parallel panel discussions – three have just been confirmed. Delegates can choose from '‘Leave no child behind!’ on European examples of integrated family and children’s services,' hosted by our partner Bertelsmann Stiftung.  Sessions on Social Services Transformation in the wake of crisis’ or ‘Workforce Development in Social Care' have also been confirmed – find out more here
