In 2013, the telecom company Lattelecom organised this initiative, which provided 50 service users from five residential care institutions for older people with free IT training to help them improve their computer skills. The goal has been to increase service users' communication options, particularly with their friends and families, and to provide them with access to the digital world.

Meciems, one of the residential homes, held eight training sessions for ten service users and received ten donated used computers.

Aims: To teach older people about the benefits of new technology by introducing them to computers and demonstrating their ability to use IT tools such as Skype or email; Increasing the use of computers and the internet among older people in nursing homes.
