The project gave 100 persons who had been unemployed for a long time a cash incentive of up to DKK 50,000 (about €6,700). The recipients were personally liable for their use of the funds. The residents were regarded as having thoughts on how to find a job and being experts in their own lives and experience. The project's objective was to give long-term unemployed people alternatives to welfare payments, such as the chance for self-management and self-ownership.

The project's main finding is that the participants want to launch their own enterprises. There are, however, limited resources in the existing legislation to assist unemployed persons who desire to launch their own firm. Another significant outcome is that people feel far more involved and heard than they would in typical job programmes.

The aim of the project is to offer a monetary award and provide long-term unemployed persons with the chance to determine how to advance their professional careers.
