Begüm Dereli is a Policy and Project Officer at the European Social Network. She brings expertise in migration and inclusion, supported by her academic and professional background. Begüm holds a Ph.D. in Political and Social Sciences and an MA in Migration Studies from Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona, where her research centred on the integration experiences of refugee youth. Before joining ESN, she worked with the European Council on Refugees and Exiles (ECRE) as a Project Officer, managing EU-level advocacy initiatives and several projects on inclusion. She also served as the AIDA (Asylum Information Database) national expert for Türkiye. Her previous roles include working on protection and livelihood projects for refugee groups and participating in research groups specializing in migration, social inclusion, diversity, and survey methodology.
