Teun Toebes is a renowned human rights activist whose mission is to improve the quality of life for people with dementia worldwide. During this interview, delegates of the European Social Services Conference 2026 learnt about Tuen’s experience living in a dementia ward for three and a half years, where he gained a deep insight into how we can better support people with dementia to remain stimulated and continue to be included as valued members of society. He is a bestselling author and his story was featured in the award-winning documentary, ‘Human Forever.’   Teun was interviewed by ESN CEO, Alfonso Lara Montero.
