ESN's first half of 2016: an overview

Just before the kick off of our Autumn activities, we would like to present a summary of our work and important milestones in the first half of 2016. Summing up the past six months brings to mind our working group on Ageing and Care, that met in February and had the social care workforce as its focal topic. Following on from this, the need to involve service users in the design, implementation and evaluation of services was discussed in the Disability working group held in Sofia in April. And, for the second year, ESN held a workshop on vulnerable youth, this time on the topic of young offenders, in July, which looked at the co-operation between different social services and institutions in the area of youth offending prevention and intervention.

In this issue, we would like to focus your attention once more on two key topics: our latest study Investing in Children's Services, Improving Outcomes and its very well welcomed launch at the European Parliament in May, and the 2016 European Social Services Conference where we took home some lessons on local strategies for social cohesion.

And last, but not least, the Annual Review, published early this year and available in English, German, French, Italian, Polish and Spanish is a great tool to give you a better overview of ESN, who we are and what we do!
