Ukraine: Impact on the most vulnerable as conflict escalates

The reports of the deaths of three children following the Russian invasion of Ukraine on 24 February was a harsh reminder that civilians, particularly the most vulnerable, are the main victims of war.  More innocent lives will continue to be lost if Russia's attacks are not halted.  As representatives of public social services in Europe, the European Social Network (ESN) wishes to underline its commitment to support public authorities and social services providers in Ukraine to help them run their services in the best possible way in such a challenging situation.

She spoke to us about the importance of evidence-based standards that are informed by deep and ongoing engagement both with people using health and social care services, and those involved in their design and delivery.

Shaping European initiatives supporting people with disabilities

The European Social Network (ESN) recently joined the European Disability Platform, to represent the voice of local public social services. The first meeting in 2022 focused on disability policy actions of the upcoming Czech EU presidency in the second half of the year, EU funding support for community-based services and the EU disability card initiative.
