As the programme for the 31st European Social Services Conference continues to develop, places are filling up quickly!

The conference, taking place in Malmö, Sweden from 14-16 June, already has delegates registered from 28 countries,including Sweden,Norway, Finland, Denmark, Germany, France, Italy, Greenland, Spain, Latvia, Azerbaijan, the Faroe Islands and the United States. Around two thirds of the participants are directors or managers in local, regional or national public authorities. The final third of currently registered participants represent research institutions, private organisations and NGOs or third sector organisations.

With such a diverse group of delegates we can guarantee broad discussions on social policy and practice focused on the role of technology in transforming social services to promote autonomy and inclusion.

Registration for the parallel sessions now open!

Delegates can choose from up to 3 of the 18 interactive case study and workshop sessions and 2 of the 9 Thematic Panel Discussions on offer as part of the conference programme. The interactive sessions, which last for 60 minutes, showcase a broad range of projects on topics including the digital transformation journey of public authorities, the use of AI in case management and decision-making, preventative care and job seeker support, and digital support for people experiencing homelessness.

The thematic panel discussions bring together leaders in social services from different organisations and countries on a panel to present projects on a similar theme or topic and have a moderated discussion. Some of the topics that will be discussed include Effective Long-Term Care underpinned by Data & IT’, Technology for Independent Living’ and Cities Social Services Digital Transformation’.

New Event Networking Platform!

ESSC delegates are now able to make use of a newly developed online Event Networking Platform. Here they can update their choices for parallel sessions, registration to social events and network with other conference participants. The networking function gives delegates the opportunity to connect with each other before the event and already set up meetings for when they will see each other in person, making the mayhem of conference coffee breaks a little more manageable! Details on how to access the platform are provided following online registration to the event.

Meet our ESSC 2023 Partners

This year, ESN is partnering with recognised industry leaders and public authorities advancing the delivery of social services for the conference. We are delighted to announce that our newly confirmed partners is:

The conference is hosted by the city of Malmö. Our institutional partners are Sweden’s Ministry of Health and Social Affairs, which supports the conference under their EU presidency; SKR, the association for cities and regions; and FSS, the Swedish Association of Social Services Directors. These organisations are leaders in the delivery of social services in Sweden and will share with delegates their experiences and knowledge gained working in the Nordic social services system.

The Innovation Zone and Exhibition Area will provide delegates with the opportunity to learn about the latest developments and innovations in social services digitalisation.
