This year, the European Social Network (ESN) is excited to announce its annual seminar, on Protecting Children: Working in Partnership across Children’s Services’.

Organised in collaboration with Bucharest's 6th District City Council - General Directorate of Social Assistance and Child Protection (DGASPC 6) and Romania’s National Authority for the Protection of Children Rights and Adoption, this event will take place in Bucharest, Romania on 30 September – 1 October 2024.

A Platform for Comprehensive Discussions

Over the course of two insightful days, the seminar will bring together a diverse group of experts, decision-makers, social services managers, practitioners, and individuals with lived experience to delve into critical topics such as:

  • Preventing harm and discussing alternative care placements: Exploring strategies to safeguard children from harm and promote family foster care. 
  • Collaborative child protection: Discussing how various services work together to ensure the safety and well-being of children.
  • Support from international organisations and the EU: Understanding the role of international organisations and the European Union in promoting integrated approaches to child protection.
  • Strengthening the child protection workforce: Identifying ways to enhance the skills and capabilities of professionals in the child protection sector.
  • Children’s involvement in decision-making: Highlighting the importance of including children in decisions that affect their lives.

Learning from Best Practice

Participants will have the unique opportunity to exchange best practics and gain insights into how integrated child protection is being effectively implemented across public agencies and services in Europe. This seminar promises to be an enriching experience, fostering collaboration and innovation in the field of child protection.
