This year, the European Social Network (ESN) has the pleasure of organising its annual seminar in partnership with Bucharest's 6th District City Council - General Directorate of Social Assistance and Child Protection (DGASPC 6) and Romania’s National Authority for the Protection of Children Rights and Adoption.

Titled ‘Protecting Children: Working in Partnership across Children’s Services’, this event will take place in Bucharest, Romania on 30 September – 1 October 2024.

Over the course of two days, we will discuss with experts, decision-makers, social services managers, practitioners, and persons with lived experience:

  • How to prevent harm to children and placement in alternative care.
  • How social services collaborate to protect children.
  • What support international organisations and the European Union (EU) provide to develop integrated approaches to child protection.
  • How to strengthen the child protection workforce’s capacities.
  • How children can be involved in decision-making.

Participants, through the exchange of best practices, will learn how integrated child protection is being implemented across public agencies and services.
