“Cobots” are computer-controlled robotic devices designed to assist people in need of care.

Responding to increased care needs and the demands of both paid and informal carers to be supported in the physical part of the care work, Hampshire County Council deployed six “cobots” in care settings and re-deployed them into community settings (i.e. people’s homes) during the Covid-19 pandemic.
