This project improves the reception system for unaccompanied children by offering a protective framework that can aid in preventing their disappearance, which is centred on promoting the child's best interests. To reduce the risk of trafficking and exploitation,  the child is moved from the migrant arrival hotspot to a first reception centre where three assessment interviews are conducted. Through these interviews, a multidisciplinary team of social workers, psychologists, and cultural mediators evaluates the unaccompanied child.

The interview findings aid in creating a personalised reception pathway that directs their care strategy and social integration. A system of information technology is also in place to collect and monitor personal data. The network of services is made aware of this information.

The objective is to offer unaccompanied children individualised help to enhance their social integration and welfare.
