The event, organised by the European Social Network, in cooperation with ESN member, the city-state of Hamburg and the German Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth, will take place on 8-10 June next year.

European Social Services Awards: moving onto the evaluation phase 

The call for applications for the European Social Services Awards (ESSA) closed on September 3rd and the panel of expert judges is now evaluating the projects presented under each of the five categories: Outstanding Team, Research Project, Technology Tool Social Service Innovation and Collaborative Practice. The third edition of the ESSA saw the latter two categories receiving the highest number of applications.

State of the Union address: Social dimension missing from the European Commission recovery strategy

The State of the Union address is a yearly opportunity for the European Commission to highlight pressing challenges the EU is facing as well as announcing its future actions to tackle these issues. Unfortunately for social service directors across Europe, as with last year’s address, social policy issues were once again largely absent as a priority.
