As Europe’s population ages, so too does the need for care services. Our members take care of all aspects of formal care, including planning, managing, delivery and inspection of residential, home, respite and tele-care as well as support to informal caregivers.
Our activities help social services to meet the growing demand for long-term care, while ensuring efficient and high-quality provision. For example, our 2020 seminar resulted in the publication of a report explaining how commissioning can become a strong tool ensuring quality in long-term care. Through our activities, ESN promotes the implementation of the EU Care Strategy and principle 18 of the European Pillar of Social Rights on affordable long-term care services of good quality, in particular home care and community-based services.
